Tsuyuhikari Matcha
A beautiful award-winning tsuyuhikari blend matcha from Shizuoka, Japan
This signature grade matcha makes a great usucha or fantastic matcha latte and is what you get if you want to rival mid-tier offerings from many Japanese brands (plus it's better than the quality you get at most Japanese cafes)
This tsuyuhikari blend has a naturally brighter green hue than the okumidori blend due to the relatively lower growing altitude
From time to time, batches of this matcha may have a very slightly "grainier" texture compared to some of my premium powdered teas (ball-mill vs stone-milled), but I still choose it due to its fantastic flavour, accessibility, and being able to offer this at a relatively lower price point as this was more important to me than the grind size
It's extremely difficult to find a finely ground tea that meets my flavour standards and isn't double/triple the price of this
In terms of quality alone, the tsuyuhikari blend (my "lowest grade" matcha) is better than almost all matcha on the market in New Zealand
